Why did you move to Portland?

I had been with Levy Gee for 17 years and 4 name changes. I had been in the same office for that time progressing from administrator to senior manager. In early 2010, Vantis, the name of the business by that time, was placed into administration and an MBO took over the Insolvency arm.

The company was not the same one that I joined so I felt that it was time to take a step back and assess where I was and where I wanted to be. I was itching to move, both professionally and personally, having been in the same house for the last 17 years.

I investigated opportunities in places such as Wales, Leicester, Northampton, Manchester, Bristol and Southampton, but none were quite what I was looking for. Then it was suggested I see Portland. After some research and a visit to meet the directors and I knew this was what I was looking for.  The ethos of finding solutions, knowing that I have made a difference, and providing help to those in need was just what I was looking for.
