The event was held at The Concorde Club which has now become a regular venue for Portland events, ideally situated just off the M27 near Southampton between Portsmouth and Bournemouth.
Guests were greeted with a champagne reception, a superb 3 course meal and followed by a unique Charity Auction, with guests bidding to stay in the running. The winner of the Auction won the auction prize of a Fortnum and Mason deluxe Christmas hamper.
Overall, an impressive £2,008.60 was raised for The Rainbow Centre.
The lunch was topped off with a crowd pleasing and witty rendition of Monty Pythons Lumberjack song which the Portland Directors ‘made their own’.
“It was great to see so many of our professional friends and contacts that have supported us over the years attend the event and raise money for a Charity which does some fantastic work. The Rainbow Centre provides life changing therapy for children to help them live a normal life. We are overwhelmed with the amount raised, more than double our expectations, the generosity of our guests was awesome and their support shows that, given the opportunity, people can really make a difference”.
Jessica Greenwood from The Rainbow Centre was also in attendance and commented:
“We were delighted to join Portland for their annual lunch which raised a fantastic amount for the charity. The money raised is going to make such a difference to the children and adults that rely on the Centre, who are affected by Cerebral Palsy, Stroke, Parkinson’s and Multiple Sclerosis, so we cannot thank Portland enough”.
